I’ve received a handful of concerned messages about this, so please bear with me and this informal blog post:
When I moved to a self-hosted blog, I availed the services of Google Feedburner for my email subscription needs. This was mainly because I hated the appearance of the default WordPress emails, and I wanted to try an email subscription service with some customization capabilities. However, and unfortunately, Google Feedburner decided to shut down, and email deliveries to my subscribers stopped in July 2022.
While I tried to import my existing subscription list to WordPress (via Jetpack), I experienced difficulties in doing so. With that, circumstances forced me to use follow-it as a temporary alternative.
For transparency, I have successfully migrated all existing email subscribers to follow-it. Hence, if you subscribed to this blog via email (instead of via WordPress), you can expect to receive an email from follow-it with a request to re-confirm your subscription. Rest assured that this email is not spam, not sent for phishing purposes, and is safe for you to click on. Your re-confirmation is needed to continue to receive email alerts on my blog’s new content.
I am deeply sorry for the alarm and inconvenience that this has caused. Please know that at this time, I am actively seeking other methods to resolve my email subscription problem. Ideally, I would really like to transfer my email subscription list back to WordPress/Jetpack — and honestly, I’m still figuring out the what’s and how’s.
Should there be any changes or important updates, I’ll keep you all posted on here and on social media. Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
